RESCUED! No, you’re not seeing double; it’s just twin baby squirrels that I rescued. I fished a dead mother squirrel out of the horse’s water trough. Several days later I noticed two very lonely looking baby squirrels peering out the hollow opening in a tree. That afternoon they were still in the same position. It suddenly occurred to me that it was their mom that I fished out of the water trough and that they must be extremely hungry and thirsty. I put some bird seed on their tree limb and nailed a plastic cup with water, to the tree. They started eating like starving kids. Two hours later I looked out and they were still eating! I was worried that they would eat too much. It has been several weeks since I started feeding them and they now are full of energy and running all over the tree.
My rescuing of the squirrels reminds me of how our God can rescue us from the most hopeless situations. He is always watching and ready to help. Don’t forget to call on Him when you are in need. He is just a prayer away!
Watch for my new book. Its title will be: “Lessons From Nature”. It will be an illustrated book of short parable style lessons collected from my nature experiences.
